Middle school

WEEKLY PROGRAM: Our EDGE program is offered weekly starting the week after Labor day through mid May. Sessions are offered Sunday mornings at St. Francis of Assisi campus, Sunday evening at Incarnation campus and Wednesday evenings at Incarnation campus. Parents are able to choose which campus and time works best for them, and the child will remain in that class the entire session. Spots are limited in some sessions.

For those with students at both campuses during the Wednesday session, you will be able to drop off your student at Incarnation as early as 4:00pm to help you and your students get to classes on time.

HOMESCHOOL: Though we encourage families to take advantage of the community of the classroom, we will also offer a homeschool option for grades 6 and 7. Families will be sent videos of the EDGE sessions and reflection questions to discuss at home.

ADAPTIVE: It is our goal to try and give all students an opportunity to participate in the weekly EDGE sessions. If that environment will not work for your child, we are also offering an Adaptive program on Tuesday nights on the St. Francis of Assisi campus.

SEE BELOW for information about the EDGE curriculum and other opportunities for our Middle school youth at Our Lady of Light Family.

The goal of Life Teen and Edge is to provide a safe and fun place for youth to find a solid Catholic community, get answers to their questions, and, most importantly, to experience Jesus in a profound and personal way.

EDGE & Life Teen both follow a similar model of breaking open a topic for 3-6 weeks using the structure from Mass: Gather, Proclaim, Break, Send. Gather involves an activity or icebreaker; Proclaim is the talk and/or video where content is delivered; Break is the heart of EDGE & Life Teen, where youth join their small group for discipleship check-in, breaking open the teaching, and faith sharing; Send is the recap and prayer experience.
The goal is to evangelize teens into life-long disciples.

The Kids for Christ Core Team consists of students in the 6th, 7th, and 8th grade committed to the responsible leadership of the social component of the Middle School Ministry: Kids for Christ.
Kids for Christ is the social component of Junior High Youth Ministry and has events year round. These events provide an opportunity for all middle school grades from all schools to mix and develop friendships that carry over into high school. Each themed event is unique and is designed and hosted by the Core Team.

SUNDAY NIGHT EDGE
For youth who are planning to participate on the Kids for Christ Core Team and are signed up for the Sunday evening EDGE Sessions: Attendance at Kids for Christ Core Team planning nights can replace your attendance at the EDGE Session.  Youth are welcome to attend a different time track to “make up” their missing the regularly scheduled session, but it is not required.
Blessings,
Christen Aquino
Director of Youth & Mission

This will be held weekly on Thursday evenings starting in August through the end of May. It will be from 7:00 pm to 8:15pm on the St. Francis of Assisi campus. Students will have an opportunity for intentional fellowship and pizza, before diving into praying and discussing the upcoming readings for Sunday Mass.
