1st Reconciliation and 1st Communion

PARISH WEEKLY PROGRAM: Our First Communion Sacramental Prep program will mostly take place in the classrooms. There are 2 special sessions held during normal Formation class times that will go deeper into understanding the Mass and the Eucharist. These sessions will coincide with parent meetings. One will be held in October and one in April as shown in the Calendar of Events.

PARISH HOMESCHOOL: Though we encourage families to take advantage of the community of the classroom, we will also offer a homeschool option for students preparing for First Communion. Families will receive the book and support materials and will work at home at their own pace. There will be 2 special sessions that we invite all Homeschool students and parents to attend as well that will go deeper into understanding the Mass and the Eucharist. These will be held during normal Formation class times. They will coincide with parent meetings. One will be held in October and one in April as shown in the Calendar of Events.

INCARNATION SCHOOL PREP: The majority of Sacramental Prep will take place in the classroom at Incarnation school. There will be 2 special sessions where a Discipleship Formation team member will hold a presentation in the classroom with your students that will go deeper into understanding the Mass and the Eucharist. One will be held in October and one in April. Parents will need to attend the parent meetings held in October and April during the Discipleship Formation class times.

ADAPTIVE: It is our goal to try and give all students an opportunity to participate in the weekly classes. If that environment will not work for your child, we are also offering an Adaptive program where we can work more closely with your child.

SEE BELOW or follow the link for information about the curriculum being used for Sacrament Preparation – Renewed: Your Journey to First Reconciliation and Received: Your Journey to First Communion.

The first time we encounter the Real Presence of Christ in the Eucharist is a beautiful and powerful moment in the life of every Catholic. Children preparing to receive their first Holy Communion can sometimes miss just how special this moment is amid all the hustle and bustle of that First Communion Day. Received: Your Journey to First Communion helps children understand and appreciate the incredible gift we’re offered in the Eucharist.

Preparing to go to your first Reconciliation can be intimidating. There is a lot to understand and remember. Beyond that, it can just be scary. Admitting to sin is something we all struggle with. Renewed: Your Journey to First Reconciliation offers children and their parents an engaging, interactive way to grow in their understanding of God’s love and mercy. It helps prepare them for what comes next.
